A Croatian teenager sustained spinal injuries when diving into the sea off some rocks in Comino yesterday afternoon.

The Armed Forces of Malta said the Civil Protection Department were alerted by the Red Cross station on Comino that 17-year old Lorena Letizzia required urgent medical evacuation to hospital by helicopter.

She was airlifted by an AFM Alouette rescue-helicopter to Mater Dei Hospital for urgent medical treatment.
