• The Cactus and Succulent Society of Malta will be holding its monthly meeting at 133 Melita Street, Valletta (Din l-Art Ħelwa headquarters) at 9.45 a.m. today. Senior members of the committee will be answering questions related to problems members encounter in the cultivation of cactus and other succulents. Members and all those interested are welcome.
• Fr Pascual Chavez, rector major and superior of the Salesian Society, will celebrate a Thanksgiving Mass today at 6.30 p.m. at Savio College’s multi-purpose hall, Dingli. All members of the Salesian family are invited.
• The next Mir prayer meeting will be held on Tuesday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Mtarfa parish centre. In these monthly Marian spirituality meetings the rosary is recited, followed by Mass and adoration. Instead of collecting money, foodstuffs are collected for Fondazzjoni Suret il-Bniedem, a Franciscan organisation that cares for the homeless. All are welcome.

• A prayer meeting for the sanctification of priests and to pray for priestly and religious vocations will be held on Saturday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Gżira, starting at 9.45 p.m. with Mass, followed by adoration till midnight. All are invited.
• A car treasure hunt in aid of the SPCA is being held on Sunday. The meeting point is the Naxxar Trade Fair Grounds at 1.30 p.m. Participation costs €20. For more information, call 9984 1561.
• The Malta Geographical Society will be holding a sunset walk on September 14. Participants will meet at the Red Tower, Mellieħa at 6 p.m.
• The Missions Office is holding an activity to raise missionary awareness, in its audio visual hall at 7 Merchants Street, Valletta, on September 14 at 6.15p.m. Physiotherapist Claudine Micallef will give a presentation on her experiences at St Luke Hospital in Wolisso, Ethiopia.
