Air raid over Klabbsajf

A group of Klabbsajf students relived Malta’s experience during World War II at the War Museum in Vittoriosa – from the sounding of the air raid warning to the ‘all clear’, thanks to Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna and Bank of Valletta.

The children were taken back in time, to when it was compulsory to carry a gas mask and when hearing the air raid warning meant rushing to the shelter until the raid was over.

Klabbsajf is a summer school for children from the areas of Cottonera and Kalkara, run by Aġenzija Appoġġ with the collaboration of the Foundation for Educational Services, Santa Margerita College, Kumpless Aċċess Birgu and several volunteers. This outing was organised to create more awareness about Malta’s rich historical and cultural heritage.

Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna is a voluntary non-governmental organisation active in the field of heritage preservation. It looks after a number of historic buildings and sites in Malta, including the War Museum, all of which are open to the public.
