Maltese medical team wins best foreign team in European championship
A Maltese medical team led by emergency physician Jonathan Joslin has won the best foreign team and placed fourth overall in the European Emergency Medicine Championship held in Poland.
The Maltese team, which also included emergency physician Michael Spiteri and emergency nurse Victoria Rausi, competed with 40 European teams and a New York guest team in a competition based on scenarios a medical team could face when they called an ambulance in various cases of emergency.
Health Minister Joe Cassar congratulated the team which, he said, showed that the Maltese had great ability to face challenges on an international level.

Well done! ....but i ask: Why "Foreign", if it's a european Championship? aren't Malta & Poland both Europeans now? If the title of the competition was "National Championship" and organized by Poland, it would be understandable.

First of all thanks to Times of Malta.com for getting my husband's job title right not as mentioned on tv! Anyway would like to say a public well done to all three..Dr Joslin, Vicky and my husband Dr Michael.. all 3 work really hard everyday and I had no doubt they would do well and make us proud to be Maltese! Infact Mike is still at work because of the fire works explosion even though he was meant to work till 8..and he will probably be totally embarassed that I sent this comment!! But sending it anyway!
