Care Malta, an accredited City and Guilds centre for education, will be launching a second course leading to a Level 3 (MVQ) diploma in Health Care and a Level 3 (MVQ) Specialist Diploma in Health Care.
The Malta Qualifications Council has confirmed that City and Guilds diplomas in health care are equivalent to 6 ‘O’ levels. The second course will run for eight months, between October and June 2011 and lectures will be delivered at Magister Academy in St Julian’s.
Care Malta is also offering those who enrol for the course the opportunity of joining the company as a trainee care assistant for the duration of the course. This will give
students the chance to put what they learn into practice and gain valuable hands-on experience within the industry, while supplementing their income.
Those following the course but who do not opt to join the scheme will, however, be required perform 100 hours of placement.
Natalie Briffa Farrugia, chief executive officer of Care Malta, said “the success of the first course offered a few months ago prompted us to give those interested in
pursuing a career in health care the opportunity to acquire an accredited qualification.”
