IT solutions company 6pm has won a contract to develop a healthcare solution for human resources at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, which includes major London teaching hospital, the Royal Free Hospital.
The company will be delivering around 40 human resources workflow processes using EMC Documentum xCP platform. The solution being developed is also designed to integrate with the Electronic Staff Record application.
EMC Corporation is the world’s leading developer and provider of information infrastructure technology and solutions that enable organisations of all sizes to transform the way they compete and create value from their information.
Once developed, this solution will be licensed to other trusts by 6pm, the Royal Free and EMC. The solution will then be offered nationwide as a managed service through a nominated data centre.
The company’s executive director Steve Wightman said the project was exciting for 6pm as it started to make effective use of workflow technology within the NHS.
“The business case for other trusts using this solution is compelling and we expect a significant uptake in the coming months,” he said.
The services provided by the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust have been rated “excellent” for the past three years, most recently by the Care Quality Commission.
It is renowned for its specialist services including liver, kidney and bone marrow transplantation, clinical neurosciences, renal, AIDS/HIV, infectious diseases, plastic surgery, immunology, vascular surgery, ENT surgery and audiological medicine, amyloidosis and scleroderma.
6pm Holdings plc floated on the Malta Stock Exchange in September 2007.
