Enemalta to test emergency alarms
Enemalta to test emergency alarms Residents and people who happen to be in the vicinity of Enemalta’s main sites on Tuesday need not panic if they hear a powerful alarm siren between 9 and 9.15 a.m.
The corporation will be testing its alarm systems at various installations to ascertain that they were operative in the unlikely event of an accident on site.
The sirens are intended to warn the public of any serious emergency situation at its main sites.

Residents who have for years been living close to such time-bomb installations have never been instructed on how to react in case of an emergency! Nor have any `Assembly Points` , Fire Control Points in such potentially dangerous residential areas and adequate provision of life saving/disaster control equipment installed at these installation for the safety of both workers working in these installations/residents living in the immediate environment.
Is there an Authority that should ensure that all these precautioary measures are in place?

This smacks of the UK TV programme 'Dad's Army' regaling us with the utter incompetancies of 'The Home Guard' during WWII.
Using the celebrated skit line "Dont panic Don't Panic" are EneMalta now going into the entertainment business?
If so then God help us.
They can't issue let alone collect their bills and now they are doing their best to panic the nation.
In the event of a real emergency just what are the public to do ?
Drink a Cisk or bottle of Marsovin maybe a whiskey or three and then what, sit down perhaps and wonder what the fuss is all about!
I presume someone somewhere knows - why not apparantly the Public.
I recall a business seminar by-line 'Half the information is worse than no information'
What goes EneMalta ?

Almost delusional! Are you saying enemalta should not conduct simulations and tests? Your comments are truly unbelievable, and even irresponsible.

Adrian, why must you be so very negative and criticise a simple exercise which is being undertaken in you very own interest, why.? It seems that you either are a very negative person or have an agenda. Which is it Adrian?

This is perfectly normal practice throughout Europe (and probably beyond). http://ec.europa.eu/echo/civil_protection/civil/pdfdocs/cpact04j-en3.pdf (see art 10a) Get a life, and a plane ticket, there's a whole world out there ready to teach you.

totaly agree with you Adrian, first thing, "why are we hearing it from times of Malta"?
My flat backs directly onto the enemalta gas division and i was unaware until i read this article.Forewarned is forearmed i remember as a safe bit of advice, for those that dont understand, "warn us and we will understand the procedure, and that it's only a drill" But if it was left as it was there would have been alot of headless chickens running around !
