New Milan forward Robinho has promised to give everything in a bid to help the Rossoneri return to the top in Italy and in Europe.
The Brazilian was among the big signings in Italian football before the transfer deadline after moving to the club for an undisclosed fee from Manchester City.
Robinho's arrival led to the departure of strikers Marco Borriello and Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
Borriello was expected to join Juventus but instead joined Roma on loan.
Huntelaar, meanwhile, never met the expectations of AC Milan last season when he scored seven goals for the Rossoneri in his first season at the club. The Holland international played at the World Cup this summer and will now try to make an impact in the Bundesliga with Schalke.
As for Robinho, he is thrilled to be moving to another big league in Europe, a place where other Brazilians call home. He will be a team-mate of Ronaldinho and Thiago Silva.
"Milan has great players and it's a fantastic side with a very important history," said Robinho on the club's website, www.acmilan.com.
"I hope with the rest of my team-mates to be able to contribute to hand many titles to this club.
"Kaka has always spoken to me very well about Milan and now I know that the Brazilian players in the team will give me a great hand in adapting to the team.
"I will work very hard to make the fans very happy. I want to bring so much joy to them."
Robinho was not the only new face at AC Milan this week as the club signed Zlatan Ibrahimovic from Barcelona yesterday.
Juventus were also busy on the final day of the transfer window with the arrivals of French left-back Armand Traore from Arsenal and Leandro Rinaudo from Napoli, both joining the club on a one-year loan deal.
The Turin giants parted company with winger Mauro Camoranesi and defender Jonathan Zebina. Zebina has joined promoted side Brescia while Camoranesi has moved to Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
In England, Tottenham were tonight sweating on clearance to make the signing of Rafael van der Vaart.
Spurs manager Harry Redknapp revealed he became aware of Real Madrid midfielder Van der Vaart's availability for a cut-price £8million just two hours before the 6pm cut-off.
But, more than three hours after that, there was still no confirmation from either club that the move had been completed in time.
In other deadline-day moves, Sunderland broke their transfer record to land Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan for around £13million from Rennes.
Ryan Babel used his Twitter account to announce he was staying at Liverpool after reports he was flying by helicopter to London, with West Ham reportedly interested.
Birmingham picked up former Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb on a one-year loan from Barcelona.
On a busy day for Birmingham, they signed Chile midfielder Jean Beausejour on a three-year deal from Mexican side Club America and defender Martin Jiranek on a one-year contract from Spartak Moscow.
Stoke clinched loan deals for Eidur Gudjohnsen from Monaco and Jermaine Pennant from Real Zaragoza.
Markus Rosenberg joined Racing Santander on loan from Werder Bremen, but extended his contract with the German club before leaving.
