Fr Frans Abdilla has been nominated as the new Archbishop’s Delegate for the Clergy and for Members of Institutes of Consecrated Life, the Curia said.

Fr Abdilla, who will replace Fr Ġużepp Mifsud Bonnici, was nominated by Archbishop Paul Cremona and is now responsible for the human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral formation of priests.

He was born in Kirkop on October 29, 1956 and was ordained a priest on June 29, 1984. After working in the Żebbuġ parish, in 1990 he was appointed as a religious counsellor in schools and in 2006, he started working with the students at Junior College in Msida.

Meanwhile, Mgr Cremona also nominated Fr Josef Mifsud as the new parish priest for St Joseph the Worker in Birkirkara. Fr Mifsud was born in Żejtun on May 15, 1981 and was brought up in Siġġiewi. He was ordained on July 1, 2007 and was deputy parish priest at Our Lady of Divine Grace in Żabbar.
