Bay Easy, Bay Italia join digital radio platform

Two digital radio stations have been launched on the Digital DAB+ platform.

Bay Italia meets the demands of Italian music lovers by offering quality listening with a music format that focuses on contemporary music.

Bay Easy focuses on both local and foreign contemporary music. A very experienced team have pooled their resources together to set up and run this digital station.

The new station, Bay Easy, will be targeting a similar audience to that of 89.7 Bay, with a mellower version of the hit music station.

Both stations have reached agreements with 89.7 Bay to use its ‘Bay’ brand name.

Research has found a large number of Italian music fans on the island. Bay Italia will be targeting audiences within the 24 to 49 age bracket and will retain a young feel and have the ‘edge’. Programming will involve a mix of on-air and pre-recorded programmes, as well as some foreign content.

Bay Easy’s programme content will be music, interspersed with timechecks, weather updates and other useful information. Station manager Simon Lumsden said listeners will enjoy the station’s love of music, familiarity and warmth.

The station is primarily aimed at the 14 to 49-year-old market, who appreciate the station for its lack of clutter, consistency and quality programming.

Digi B Network Ltd mana-ging director Sergio D’Amico said months of cooperation and hard work on all sides have gone into the setting up of the stations so that Maltese listeners have another good reason to install a DAB+ digital radio set and enjoy listening to new stations.
