Two projects seeking to improve and better implement legislation on equality and non-discrimination have been launched.

One of the projects is being undertaken by the National Commission for the Promotion of Equality (NCPE) and the second by the National Commission for Persons with Disability (KNPD).

The first is called Strengthening Equality Beyond Legislation. It seeks to improve non-discrimination legislation and the development of a national policy to combat discrimination and promote equality.

The project, which includes research, training and awareness raising, also aims to stimulate action by key stakeholders towards creating an equal environment.

The second project is called Different Persons, Different Needs, One Society. Implemented by the KNPD, it will seek to improve the implementation of non-discriminatory legislation and promote equality.

It will include the National Disability Awareness Week, a national conference and Disabled People’s Parliament on the national employment policy, a seminar on anti-discrimination and the production of educational material.
