Villarreal’s offensive midfielder Santi Cazorla joins 20 of Spain’s World Cup winners in the squad to face Liechtenstein in a Euro 2012 qualifier and Argentina in a friendly.
Coach Vicente del Bosque recalled Andres Iniesta, Fernando Torres and keeper Pepe Reina, who were all absent from the squad that travelled to Mexico for a friendly on August 11, a game that ended in a 1-1 draw.
Real Madrid defender Raul Albiol, who is injured, Athletic Bilbao midfielder Javi Martinez, who is in the under-21 squad, and Valencia striker Juan Manuel Mata are the only members of the victorious World Cup squad missing.
Cazorla, 25, was part of Spain’s victorious Euro 2008 team, but did not get a call-up for the World Cup in South Africa.
The other teams in Spain’s Euro 2012 qualifying group are the Czech Republic, Scotland, Lithuania and Liechtenstein.
