Malta Industrial Parks deserve a pat on the back for the recent major clean-up of the nissen hut area near the Victorian Corradino Lines, Paola.
The tender for the removal of truck loads of rubbish and all sorts of debris must have cost MIP a hefty sum of money. However, the contractor involved did an excellent job and now passers-by and the hundreds of sports enthusiasts who make use of the cluster of sports facilities in the vicinity can enjoy some clean open space.
Sadly enough, however, a number of owners of commercial vehicles have now started to park trailers and containers in this newly created open space, disfiguring the skyline and inviting illegal dumping which was so rife before the clean-up. It is believed that MIP officials will be taking action and, hopefully with the co-operation of the police, stop these practices. Moreover, in the last few days it was noticed that CCTV cameras were being installed by the owners of the nearby sports facilities and as such it should not be so difficult to bring the culprits to justice.
