A Sudanese and an Egyptian who were yesterday found in possession of opium have been remanded in custody after pleading not guilty to charges against them this morning.

Both men live in Birzebbuga. The Egyptian, 28-year-old Walid Mohammed Ibrahim Said Ahmed told the court that he lied when he yesterday told the police he was from Palestine.

Together with Adam Mohammed, 21, he pleaded not guilty to the possession of morphine, codeine and prepared opium in circumstances which denoted it was not for their exclusive use.
