A 34-year-old Sudanese construction worker died when he fell down three storeys after a skylight he was standing on collapsed in St Julians yesterday afternoon.

The police said the man was found at about 12.05 p.m. in a block of apartments in St Michael Street. He was certified dead on site.

Sources said the man was working on the roof when, for some reason, he stood on the skylight, which collapsed under his weight.

The man, who lived in Buġibba, was alone at the time.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli has opened an inquiry.
