The owner of the former Mambra Electronics this morning called on the court to revoke a warrant of prohibitory injunction to stop him from selling his Sta Marija Estate villa until overdue tax is paid.
Joseph Pavia argued that such a warrant could not be issued since this property was registered under Mambra Food and Beverage Ltd and not under Mambra Electronics.
Two warrants to stop the house sale had been filed by the commissioners of inland revenue and value added tax.
It has been reported that Mr Pavia owes the government a total of €1,313,565, including €350,000 in value added tax and eco-contributions. €500,000 are due for fines and penalties for late payments to the VAT Department.
Mambra's shop in Luqa closed for a long shutdown in July last year never to reopen.
