GRECH. On August 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, ROSE MARY, aged 69, of Birkirkara, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Gaetano, sons Joseph and his wife Rachel, Peter and Simon, brothers Joseph, David and Perry, sister Margaret, and her granddaughter Anya, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15 p.m. for Santa Theresa parish church, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who looked after her. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

HILI. On August 21, at her residence, DORA, née Xerri, of ­Xewkija, widow of Ġanni, aged 94, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Joseph (of Hilite Hardware Store) and his wife Lucia, Marija (MUSEUM member), Francis and his wife Marija, and Carmen and her husband Frans Azzopardi, her grandchildren Brian, Jonathan, Reuben and his fiancée Rowena, Melvin and his wife Antonella, Mario and his fiancée Emma, Connie, Vanessa and Bernadette and several nephews and nieces residing in Gozo and in Australia, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital today at 5 p.m. for St John the Baptist Rotunda, Xewkija, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 5.30 p.m. followed by interment at Xewkija cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest.

Nominations for the elderly person of the year award will be received by the Parliamentary Secretariat for the Elderly and Community Care until September 13.
