Summer party tonight

The annual ‘UĦM Sajf’ will be held in the Ta’ Fra Ben parking area, Qawra, tonight.

Stands will open at 7.30 p.m. displaying filigree, wood-carving, pottery and other traditional Maltese crafts.

Other stands will sell local produce such as Gozo cheeselets, honey, olives, house wine and tomatoes. Some will also sell beauty products and toys.

There will be a beer garden and wine stands, as well as an open air restaurant serving a full buffet dinner. Those wishing to dine at the restaurant are advised to make a reservation by calling Jesmond Bonello on 7940 4919.

Entertainment for children will be provided by stilt-walkers, fire jugglers, a mini luna park and Disney characters who will distribute balloons. There will also be puppets, magic shows, choirs and dance groups.

On the main stage, 1960s and 1970s music will be performed live by popular Maltese singers, including Leontine, Fabrizio Faniello, Joe Demicoli and Thea Garrett.

All activities are free of charge.
