Fourth and fifth form students at the Girls’ Junior Lyceum of Blata l-Bajda within St Ignatius College recently went on a study trip to London.
The trip was organised by teachers Violet Rizzo and Joseph Pavia, who joined the students during the week-long activity.
Students visited landmarks such as Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus, as well as Westminster Bridge – the subject of a poem by William Wordsworth.
They attended workshops at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre on Macbeth, which they are currently studying at school, and watched the musical Oliver!, currently on at the West End.
Students also visited the Science Museum and the Imperial War Museum – where they saw the Holocaust Exhibition – as well as the Natural History Museum and the London Aquarium.
They attended Mass in Westminster Cathedral, synchronised their watches in Greenwich, visit-ed Leeds Castle in Maidstone, Kent, for a taste of Tudor England, and spent a day on rollercoasters at Thorpe Park in Surrey.
