The government and Malta Union of Teachers will be signing a new collective agreement tomorrow, following three months of intensive talks.

The union said in a statement yesterday it will soon be holding a meeting for delegates to explain the details of the agreement. It said the country would soon be facing important reforms in the education sector and educators would be accepting the challenges ahead courageously and with commitment.

The reforms, the union said, were costly, and it was the government’s responsibility to ensure that they were carried out hand in hand with the union.
