Turkey's flesh eating fish relieves skin diseases
At a health spa in Turkey, a so-called 'doctor fish' is used to treat certain skin diseases.
Measuring just a few centimeters the Garra Rufa fish feed on patches of skin affected by psoriasis, an itchy, flaky skin condition and sufferers from around the world come to stay at a clinic in Kangal for this unique therapy.

i wonder if the same fish is then sold at the local market or served in dishes at the pool's restaurant! :) Mr Xuereb is right that both exzema and psoriasis are very much an en external manifestation of a psychological problem.

A skin condition like psoriasis has underlying causes, at times even psychological. These fish eat the symptoms (scales) of the condition but don't address the cause. For that one needs to share a bath with a few piranhas. They've evolved so they make a thorough job and the shock of the experience could well cure the psychological cause of the condition. Drastic I know but if it works.....
