A 33-year-old man who fell down three storeys into a neighbour’s shaft on Wednesday evening was badly injured but was not in a critical condition.

A police spokesman said it was still unclear how exactly the man fell down the shaft in Dun Manwel Zammit Street, Siġġiewi. Police investigations were still under way, the spokesman added.

It seems that at the time of the accident, which occurred at about 9 p.m., the man was checking the plumbing on his roof.

Personnel from the Civil Protection Department were called to assist the man.
