New scholarship scheme

The Malta Government Scholarship Scheme has been launched for undergraduates wishing to read for degrees not offered at the University or Mcast.

The Education Ministry said the scheme was aimed at getting more students into higher education both locally and abroad, to encourage excellent private sector academic studies and to give Maltese and Gozitan students a wider choice.

Students must choose a subject leading to a first degree, which is equivalent to a Malta Qualifications Framework level six qualification. More information can be obtained at www.education.gov.mt/mgss_ug.htm or by calling 2598 2230.

Some 307 students have benefitted from such schemes since 2007.
