An undergraduate scholarship scheme has been launched by the government for people not registered with the university or MCAST who want to sit for their first degree.

The aim of the scheme is to encourage more students to continue studying beyond university level, encourage academic studies of excellence through the private sector and offer Maltese and Gozitan youths a wider spread of subjects and institutions where to study.

Students opting for this scheme should choose a subject leading to a first degree that would be certified at MQF level six.

A total 307 students have benefitted from the scheme since 2007
