MALLIA. On August 13, CARMELO of Ħamrun residing in San Ġwann, aged 66, fell asleep in the Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Grace née Vella, his daughters Sonia and her husband Hubert Baldacchino and Oriana and her husband Trevor Fenech, his beloved grandchildren Loana, Elyse and Matthias, his sisters, brothers, in-laws, their families, other relatives and friends. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service today at 9 a.m. at San Ġwann parish church. Donations to the Hospice Movement will be greatly appreciated. The family is grateful to all doctors, nurses, and staff at Emergency, Cardio Medical Unit and the Neuro Surgical Unit at Mater Dei Hospital, the Malta Hospice Movement, MMDNA, relatives and friends who assisted Carmelo in his final days. “Lord, accept him into your merciful arms.”

PACE ASCIAK. On August 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, SALVINA, née Frendo, of Sliema, aged 86, widow of Louis, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Antoine Marcel and his wife Margaret, her daughter Natalie and her husband Dominic, her daughter Mariella and her husband George, her grandchildren Nigel, Rachel, Ryan, Thea, Malvin, Geordie and her great-granddaughters Angelique, Veronique and Rebecca, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

Requiem Mass

On the seventh anniversary of the death of ANTHONY BARBIERI, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be celebrated tomorrow at St Francis church, Rabat.

A Mass for his repose will be celebrated today at 6.30 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception church, Tal-Ibraġ.

MILLER – LINA. A dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Always in our thoughts and prayers, especially today, on the second anniversary of her death. Ray and Simone, Gerald, Sarah and Thomas, Kate and Magnus, Alex, Anna, Max and Mia. May she rest in peace.

Power cuts

There will be power cuts in the following localities tomorrow:

From 8 to 11 a.m. in parts of 28th April 1688, Bishop Cocco Palmieri, Marziena and Ta’ Xaman streets, Blat and Xewkija streets in Sannat.

From 2.30 to 5.30 p.m. in parts of Racecourse street, 8th September Avenue, Victory Square, and Ġorġ Cini street in Xagħra.

Monday will see power cuts in the following localities:

From 7.30 to 9 a.m. in parts of Herds Lane, parts of the Mrieħel industrial estate, Ta’ Ħotba and Għadam alleys in Mrieħel.

From 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in parts of Our Lady of Sorrows, Turu Lentini and Mimosa streets, Danny Cremona Street, Żawri Alley and the Oreste Chircop garden in Ħamrun.

The following locality will have its power cut on Tuesday:

From 8 a.m. to noon in Patri Ġjaċ Camenzuli, Forn il-Ġir, Ġilju, Patri Manwel Magri, Marsalforn, Mattia Preti and Capuchins streets, the Tal-Grazzja valley in Victoria.
