Fifteen minutes of fireworks will be let off at Mosta at 9 p.m. tomorrow, thus disposing of pyrotechnics which had already been laid out for firing, the Mosta parish office said.

It explained that while ground fireworks were being safely removed, it was too dangerous to remove other firework which had already been laid out for firing, and it had therefore been decided that this would be let off tomorrow at 9 p.m.

The decision was taken unanimously during a meeting which involved the Archpriest, the feast commission, the police, and representatives of Nicolo Isourd and Sta Marija societies and the 15th August fireworks factory.

Mario Dimech died when the 15th August fireworks factory blew up yesterday. His body was found in the debris this morning.

Tomorrow's outdoor feast of Sta Marija in Mosta has been cancelled.
