Traffic arrangements for state funeral announced

The following traffic arrangements have been made in connection with President Emeritus Guido de Marco’s state funeral.

No parking will be permitted along the following roads in Valletta between 5 a.m. and 11 a.m. tomorrow, Transport Malta said.

The roads are:

• Triq il-Merkanti

• Triq San Kristofru

• Pjazza ta’ Kastilja

• Triq il-Papa Piju

• Triq il-Kavalier

• Triq l-Ordinanza

Parking will not be permitted along St Paul’s Street which will be used exclusively by the funeral cortege in the direction towards Castille Place.

On Monday, the following roads in Floriana will be closed to vehicular traffic:

• Triq Glormu Cassar (from junction with Castille Place up to junction with the War Memorial)

• Triq Sant’ Anna

• Telgħa tal-Kurċifiss

The following road in Ħamrun will be closed to vehicular traffic

• Triq San Gużepp from the roundabout junction at Fleur de Lys up to the junction at Pjazza San Pawl (known as Fra Diego).

Public transport towards Valletta will be deviated through Pjazza E.S. Tonna and Triq Sarria, Floriana.

Public transport departing from the Valletta terminus commuting through Pieta and Msida will proceed through Vjal ir-Re Dwardu VII (opposite Phoenicia Hotel), ix-Xagħra tal-Furjana, Triq V. Dimech, Pjazza San Kalċidonju (in front of Police Head Quarters), Triq Sa Maison, Xatt it-Tiben (where the Gozo Ferry berths), Triq W. Bonnici and Triq il-Marina in the direction towards Msida.

Public Transport from Valletta in the direction towards either Marsa or Hamrun will proceed through Vjal ir-Re Dwardu VII (opposite Phoenicia Hotel), ix-Xagħra tal-Furjana, Triq V. Dimech, Pjazza San Kalċidonju (in front of Police Head Quarters), Triq Sa Maison, Xatt it-Tiben (where Gozo Ferry berths), Triq W. Bonnici, Triq l-Indipendenza and Triq Nazzjonali in the direction towards either Marsa or Hamrun, in which case, buses will be diverted to either Marsa or Msida/B’Kara.

Public Transport from Triq l-Imdina. Mriehel/Sta Venera and Triq Fleur-de-Lys, Fleur-de-Lys/Sta Venera in the direction towards Triq il-Kbira San Gużepp will be diverted to either Triq il-Kanun, Sta Venera or Triq Psaila, B’Kara.
