A Somali was this morning remanded in custody after he pleaded that he was only partly guilty to charges of threatening a 62-year-old man with a knife shortly after he gave him a lift.

The man, Samuel Baldacchino had bought a round of drinks for everyone at a bar in Marsa.

The Somali, Jimale Hassan Abdullahi, 22, asked Mr Baldacchino for a lift and while in the car, he allegedly threatened him with a knife and stole his mobile phone.

Magistrate Gabriella Vella took the Somali’s plea as a not guilty one.
