Celtic are in talks with Manchester City over securing out-of-favour Wales striker Craig Bellamy on a loan deal.
Bellamy was on Wednesday left out of City’s squad for their Europa League qualifier against Timisoara, fuelling expectations he will not be named in the club’s 25-man squad for their Premier League campaign.
Celtic manager Lennon confirmed the club had approached City with a view to taking Bellamy back to Parkhead, where he spent several months on loan in 2005.
“How far down the line we are will be down to Craig obviously. But the advantage we have is that, one, it’s not in the Premier League and, two, he has been here before and he enjoyed his time,” he said.
