A man from Marsa has been charged with keeping heroin, cocaine and cannabis in his house which is situated just a few blocks away from a school.
The police searched 22-year-old Glen Abela’s house and allegedly found about 150 grams of cannabis, 10 grams of heroin and a number of sachets with cocaine in his room.
Wearing a dark suit and flip-flops, Mr Abela pleaded not guilty to selling cannabis and possession with intent on Monday and before. He also denied possession of heroin and cocaine that was not for his personal use and with being in possession of the drugs within 100 metres of a school.
Prosecuting Inspector Johann Fenech said Mr Abela himself had indicated where he kept the drugs during the raid and admitted he had sold cannabis to a man a few hours before the bust.
Defence counsel Giannella Caruana Curran requested bail for her client but the police objected because they wanted to protect two witnesses.
Magistrate Edwina Grima remanded him in custody.
Police Inspector Johann Fenech prosecuted. Lawyer Joseph Giglio also appeared for Mr Abela.
