Part of Regional Road, between the junction with Reggie Miller and Sliema roads on the southbound carriageway, will be closed to traffic between 10 p.m. tonight and midnight tomorrow due to roadworks.

To bypass the closed carriageway, traffic along Regional Road before entering the Manwel Dimech Bridge tunnel area will be split into two lanes – the inner lane is for vehicles headed for San Ġwann and Kappara, while the outer lane is for those going towards Sliema and Gżira.

Traffic exiting the Manwel Dimech Bridge tunnel in the direction of San Ġwann and Kappara will be diverted to the slip road leading to Birkirkara and Sliema roads.

Traffic moving through Regional Road towards Sliema and Gżira will be diverted to Reggie Miller road (the road leading to Zammit Clapp Hospital) and Rue d’Argens in the direction of Sliema Road or Rudolphe Street.

Transport Malta said yesterday that the road was being closed due to “road surface repair” works.

Northbound traffic will not be affected.
