On Monday morning employees and tenants of The Cornerstone Complex in Mosta found the access lane (permitted by all relevant authorities) blocked by a stall.
Selfishly, the owner, in preparation for the Mosta festa, parked his stall right in the access lane, blocking the exit for cars in the underlying car park, and of course blocking access to those going to work at Cornerstone Complex on Monday morning.
Did the Mosta council recklessly issue a permit to this stall-owner, ignoring the fact that by parking in an access lane, the stall would obviously cause a serious obstruction with all the negative implications?
Tenants, including major companies, have bitterly complained that their employees could not access the underlying car park, and this lost them time and potential earnings.
If permission was granted to the stall owner to park in an access lane, this is most unprofessional and unfair and must not be tolerated.
We expect the stall to be removed immediately and relocated to a site where it does not cause any obstruction. If this is not done, we shall instruct our lawyers to take appropriate action against the local council.
