Stoke-born Robbie Williams has tied the knot with American actress Ayda Field in the grounds of his Beverly Hills mansion.

The pair exchanged vows in front of several dozen family and friends during the 30-minute ceremony during the weekend.

They did their utmost to keep the ceremony secret after agreeing a deal with Hello! magazine for the wedding photos.

But airborne photographers snapped Mr Williams, 36, wearing a black tuxedo with his bride, 31, in a white layered dress with her hair pinned up.

Several marquees and a flower arrangement spelling out the word “love” were also pictured in the grounds of the singer’s £12 million hacienda-style mansion.

Mr Williams’s spokesman confirmed the ceremony took place on Saturday, issuing a one-line statement saying: “Robbie Williams and Ayda Field were married on August 7, in a ceremony held in the grounds of the home they share in Los Angeles.”

His father Pete Conway told the News of the World: “At last, Rob is happy. That’s what you want for your kids and this is the happiest I’ve seen him. Ayda is so beautiful and delightful and so lovely and just so right for him. They are brilliant together.”

The star’s Take That bandmates – whom he dramatically rejoined last month – are not thought to have flown over for the ceremony. Instead they reportedly sent a series of messages to be read out.

Los Angeles-based Mr Williams and Ms Field have been together for more than three years since meeting through friends.

They are reportedly going on a two-week honeymoon before he arrives back in the UK to promote the new Take That material.
