Late goal foils Malta U-21

A late goal from Hal Robson-Kanu denied Malta U-21 from recording a morale-boosting win as Walese managed to salvage a 1-1 draw at the National Stadium today.

Edwin Camilleri's men looked on their way to record a stunning victory over their more-quoted opponents when Terrence Vella put the hosts ahead on 31 minutes when he headed the ball home from a John Mintoff cross.

However, the Welsh rallied after the interval and managed to salvage a draw eight minutes from time when Robson-Kanu dived full stretch to meet the ball that flew into the Malta net.
