Man arraigned over one ecstasy pill
A 49-year-old Englishman ended up in court yesterday after being caught with a single ecstasy pill at a party in the limits of Rabat on Saturday evening.
Stephen Hutchins, from Durham, admitted to simple possession of the drug and was conditionally discharged for a year in an arraignment which was over in minutes.
Police Inspector Victor Aquilina told Magistrate Anthony Vella that Mr Hutchins had fully cooperated with the police in their investigations.

This is utterly disgraceful. The police should have been chasing the big fish, ie the people who traffic drugs at such events. Somehow the big fish are rarely caught however.
Its a waste of resources to have to send a guy to court over one pill. An expensive fine should be enough in minor cases like these. Let's not blow things out of proportion.

What a JOKE. 1XTC (for personal use) =1 year suspended. Theft of wallets, personal injuries, theft from tourists=the same treatment!! Did I say it was a joke? Now let's see, how many copy/armed forces personnel did this take and multiply by the number of wasted hours, add-on the courts costs, legal fees, etc. Did I ask "What a joke?" Ahhhh! Yes I did.

Those who should be fined are the police for wasting the court's time.

Lol It would have saved him some bother if he had swallowed the evidence.

1 xtc pill sends you to court immediately, while other serious issues drag on for years...
