The Portomaso Casino has reached an agreement with leading poker operator Pokerstars to host a series of international events.

The first, the Italian Poker Tour, will be held in November and is expected to attract hundreds of top international poker players in Malta over 10 days of competition.

Gianfranco Scordato, the casino’s general manager, said: “This agreement finally puts Malta and the Portomaso Casino on the calendar of one of the most important circuits in Europe.”

Malta is becoming a popular key location for quality poker events. This skill game has attracted thousands of tourists to Malta. This agreement promises to further expand this niche.
