A woman and her baby were hospitalised yesterday after a van crashed into her parked car on the outskirts of Mġarr, the police said.

Police sources said they escaped with cuts and bruises and the van driver was unhurt. The 26-year-old woman from Birkirkara and her eight-month-old son were in a Peugeot 206 and the van, a Ford Transit, was being driven by a 74-year-old man from San Ġwann.

The Peugeot overturned as a result of the impact, which took place at noon on the road leading from Mġarr down to Golden Bay.
