Feast of light
Photo: Michael Mallia
The timing of the World Cup provided Balzan and Lija residents with a rare treat – a one-off light display on Sunday when both parish churches were lit at the same time. The football competition had clashed with the feast of the Annunciation in Balzan so this was moved to August 1, just a few days before Lija’s feast of the Transfiguration of Our Saviour being celebrated tomorrow.

lija feast - disgrace wonder what new fire regulations are all about- yesterday residents, including old people and babies had to endure five full hours of shattering fireworks all in the name of is-salvatur. It's also about time that Church shoulders some responsibility in all this mhux tahsel idejha. how long will we remain a country led by hooligans and cowboys whose only interest in life is kacca, nar and reckless driving.

M.r Cassar before saying to ''vague as usual'',why not give me your word that all I have mentioned before about feasts do not happen in Malta?
''I am only talking about the way we look at our feasts'' here I am quotting myself just in case M.r Cassar did not understand that I am reffering to most feasts not only one.
As a Catholic there is nothing to prove to me, and I am glad that EVERYONE (from your hidden statistic) drank responsibly and always kept in mind that praising god dosen't consist in once in a year... (not judging at all)

Actually the Lija feast is going to be celebrated, as always, on the 6th of August, i.e.Friday, not tomorrow

I do not want to be missunderstood, I take my religon seriously, I am only talking about the way we look at our feasts, Personaly I find a minute's prayer much more worth it ! .

I can invite Mr. A. Attard to next year feast in Hal Balzan dedicated to Our Lady of the Annunciation to see devotion, respect, the family aspect, solidarity and more. Instead of talking on sight about feast, in Hal Balzan there were no wearing less then on the beaches, and painting our faces like tribal warriors. Mr. Attard....too vague as usual!
Make an appointment with me for next year festa in Hal Balzan!

If a feast is all about running after a statue, drinking beer from morning till midnight , wearing less then on the beaches and painting our faces like tribal warriors .THEN IT IS ONLY A PAGAN FEAST !!!
