Book on Pembroke

I thank Paul Borg, who wrote the letter Discovery Of Pembroke’s Rich History (July 27), for his kind and inspiring words about our locality.

It is true that one cannot find the book he mentions at any local bookshop because the intention of the Pembroke local council was always to at least sell the copies at cost price. Sadly enough, due to the Local Councils Act we cannot do this for the time being but we are still waiting for the approval of our bye-law to be legally permitted to sell copies. We believe that when a local council undertakes a project like we did with this book, permission to sell it, at least at cost price, should be granted straight away.

Once again we thank Mr Borg for his kind thoughts and hopefully we will receive approval for our bye-law to be able to legally sell copies.
