US President Barack Obama said the thought of an evening meal with his daughters keeps him going during a tough day in the Oval Office.

Mr Obama told CBS television’s Sunday Morning show that time with his family is “a prize”. And he said it is a reminder of why he does what he does as President, to make sure that his daughter’s children live in a strong America.

Malia Obama is 12 and sister Sasha is nine.
