Responsible drinking campaign targets feasts

The Sense Group has launched a summer campaign targeting band club publications, radio and online media providing consumer information about various aspects of drinking alcoholic beverages.

The feast magazine literature is being targeted through a campaign, entitled "Tkunx il-Buffu tar-Raħal", that proved impactful in previous summers, while a web banner advert and a radio commercial focus on generating awareness about responsible drinking, TSG said.

TSG's Chief Executive, Joe Farrugia, said: "Over the years, TSG has launched several campaigns that offered practical recommendations with the main aims being that of achieving increased levels of awareness and more use of common sense to combat alcohol misuse. Our message is clear: we urge adults not to drive if they are going to drink. To further extend our ongoing campaigns for moderation in the consumption of alcohol drinks by adults, this year TSG joined the global Drink Aware initiative."

"TSG's campaigns are aimed to cover three categories: upholding the law, promoting best practice and informing individual choice by promoting moderate and responsible drinking," said Mr Farrugia.

TSG was founded in 1997 with the general objective of promoting a moderate drinking message among the Maltese population. TSG has been active through its campaigns to minimise alcohol abuse related harm through numerous, targeted initiatives that are recognised as being among the best examples of corporate social responsibility in Malta.

Naqbel mieghek perfettament.
Il-Knisja mhix kuntenta, emminni. Imma l-mexxejja taghha, il-Kappillani u l-Kurja, jafu li m'ghandhomx 'what it takes' biex jaghmlu xi haga u jwaqqfu certi affarijiet.
Issa stenna ... ha jghaddi nhar il-Hadd li gej, umbaghad kellimni! Nahseb, jifhimni min irid jifhimni.

I'll agree with you on this, Mr Slater. When I was younger I lived for a while in the United States and the ads you saw there were very uncompromising in their goal to scare people into being more responsible. Unfortunately it is human nature to try and get away with things if we think we can do so, so it's ok that I'm texting behind the wheel so long as a warden doesn't spot me, and so on and so forth ... Yet here have yet another cartoon campaign; as if that will be taken seriously!

Etienne Camilleri........Nahseb li ma f`himx xi irrid nghejd. Naf hafna kemm tahdmu nies bhalkhom, u naf li ghalkemm tiehdu xi grokk, xorta tibqaw responsabbli ta dak li ghal snin twal tkunu hdimtu ghalih. Dak li irrid nghejd huwa li din tas sokor fil festa hija tradizzjoni u nemmen ( ghalkemm ma nghaqbilx ) li qatt ma hija ser tinqata. Sakemm ikun hemm il piki fil festa, ikun hemm min irid li ma ikunx f`sensih halli joghqod jajjar lil tan naha l-ohra. Din hija il kultura taghna.Tmur lura mijiet tas snin, u meta ghedt li taghmel parti mill festa, iva, ghal briju nies fis sakra trid ( mhux patata ghal kollox ). Fl`opinjoni tieghi li kieku tnehhi xi wahda min dawn...tizjin, in nar, il marci, tal qubbajd u is sokor, ma tkunx festa kif nafu nghamlu ahna il Maltin. Il festa it tajba, u tixrobx hafna.
