An exhibition of photographs by the Maltese photography group 'Flickristi' was held at the French town of Lavandou to inaugurate the opening of the yacht race 'Sur la Route de Malte'.

The exhibition was organised by the Embassy of Malta in France and the Malta Tourism Office in France and is based around a book entitled Malta Seascapes, containing a selection of photographs taken by members of the group illustrating Maltese shorelines.

Flickristi came about through the website flickr.com, an image- and video-hosting site. Local photography enthusiasts Therese Debono and Wil Camilleri created the group in 2008, organising meetings, photo-walks and photoshoots. Word spread and the group quicky grew.

Flickristi brings together a mix of people - from students to lawyers to professional photographers. The group has over 400 members, with regular monthly photographic competitions held.
