The Labour Party insisted today that the Malta Resources Authority needed to explain the discrepancy in LPG prices between Malta and mainland Europe.

In a statement following the 5.9% gas price reduction, announced yesterday, party spokesman Joe Mizzi and Marlene Pullicino said that gas prices were still 25 per cent higher than in August last year and gas price increases over the year were still higher than in the rest of the EU.

The Labour spokesmen insisted that the MRA needed to be transparent in its workings. It needed to publish its benchmarks as well as the justification for any prices fluctuations.
