Konnekt, the recruitment consultants, has launched its second website since its inception in 2007.

The firm says its new site delivers better functionality and ease of navigation. Candidates using konnekt.com have full visibility of the status of their application, with real time updates of project and application statuses.

Creating a profile is supposed to take less than two minutes, as the registration form requires just 15 fields to be filled in.

Konnekt have stripped the registration process to a bare minimum, not requiring visitors to enter unnecessary details, such as address and ID card number.

Once a profile has been created, visitors can apply for jobs in two clicks; access the updated application status for the particular career opportunity; view their application history; and set their preference to be alerted to career opportunities that interest them.

"Although having a complete profile is important, setting preferences is the single most effective method to enable candidates to be spotted for unadvertised roles," said operations manager Alison Grech.

Visitors' profiles will be accessible only to Konnekt, and cadidates should always receive feedback on their application status, whether face to face, over the phone, e-mail or the company's website.

The careers section retains a number of important characteristics. All employment opportunities are genuine, have a closing date and are backed by clients who are actively seeking to recruit.

Meanwhile, improvements have been made to the back end of the website, providing enhanced searching and matching capabilities as well as contact with candidates. Ms Grech described it as not just a new website, but a significant upgrade of their business processes that will result in increased effectiveness for both candidates and clients.

Operations director Josef Said said several innovative projects related to the site are in the pipeline and will be launched over the next few months. These are intended to give the site better functionality and increased accessibility.
