Go sets up new networks operations centre
Telecoms group Go has set up a unified network operations centre at its corporate headquarters in Marsa, as part of its ongoing infrastructure development programme.
The new state-of-the-art centre allows viewing, control, monitoring and management of Go’s entire network infrastructure from one location. Go customers will be provided with faster response times, quicker problem resolution and constant, secure services.
The centre ensures total reliability in serving Go’s extensive network across the islands. Managed by a dedicated and highly trained team of support technicians and operating round the clock, the centre is designed to identify and solve any kind of network irregularity.
Built on the years of experience gained from the previous distributed network operation centre setups, the new, high-tech monitoring centre is equipped with powerful hardware and software tools and is well-positioned to serve Go’s growing community, particularly corporate customers, and provide them with the most dependable customer support and value-added communications solutions for years to come.
It boasts sophisticated network management, monitoring and analysis tools enabling all faults to be recorded and handled promptly and efficiently. The site is fully equipped with visualisations of all networks being monitored, workstations at which the detailed status of the network can be seen and the necessary network management systems to manage the networks. The centre’s set-up is supported by a disaster recovery site that ensures NOC support is always available.
The NOC team will liaise with other national and international telecom operators and communication services providers to diagnose faults that do not originate from Go’s networks.
Through the new centre, the technical team also provides assistance and operational technical support to other internal teams, including within the company’s data centres either over the phone or by dispatching an on-site support team. The NOC also provides first-level ‘remote-hands’ and IP network support to the company’s collocation customers.
