Smells bad, tastes bad...

It may smell bad and taste even worse... but some researchers in India swear by the healing qualities of cow urine and dung.

But does it actually work?

Don't try this at home

@Joe Borg - It's a shame you found India so repulsive.

I agree that India is a country with huge obstacles to overcome (there are more people living in poverty in India than in all of Sub-Saharan Africa). However, I think your distaste for this country is expressed in quite an offensive manner.

May I remind you that despite centuries of colonization and repression and its and massive problems, India is today a country with one of the highest growth rates in the world and where the standard of living for many hundreds of thousands is increasing more rapidly than many other countries - so much so that "cleaner" countries such as the UK are begging to form part of this economic revolution.

Climbing out of poverty for a country with a population of more than 1 billion is no easy challenge but if that cow dung really gets to you, I can understand why "those people" bother you so much.

I doubt very much that the meat can give them a better life style Conrad. It doesn't seem to be doing much for the beef eaters of the world. They may be poor, but they may also be happier and perhaps helthier than most. Has anyone checked the latest cancer and obesity rates in India lately????????
