Electrical wiring in square
New electrical wiring system for St George's Square, Victoria.
This photo shows part of what is supposed to be the new underground electrical wiring system for St George's Square in Victoria. Apart from the fact that works on the completion of the square have been stalled for several months now, one may ask whether the cables seen in the photo are to form part of the embellishment of the square. Surely a better way could have been found to eliminate this eyesore.
Or is it that in Gozo anything goes?

Could have been done better: The first 3 metres from the ground up should be covered with a galvanised steel channel so as to protect the cables from damage. The finished product should then be painted with a weather proof paint to blend in with the wall.
Cosidereing that the building is old, it would be dangerous to cut trenches in it.
To console yourself, try to find photos of electrical, phone and what not installations in Indian streets.
