The innovative Hungarian Waterpolo Summer Camp, based for the first time in Sliema, is the first of its kind and has already received widespread coverage even outside Maltese shores.

The camp’s main aim is to improve the skills of teenage players. Furthermore, English language practice and lessons are also part of the programme.

The camp is being run by Rajmund Fodor, a former best foreigner award winner in the Maltese game (2008 and 2009) and an Olympic and world waterpolo champion for Hungary.

This season, Robert Kovacs, Vincze Balazs and Adam Fodor, all former Hungary national team players, are in Malta to assist Rajmund Fodor in training.

The camp, which commenced on June 21, has attracted participants from eight different countries, all aged between 14 and 18 years. The camp comes to an end on August 29.

The Hungarian Waterpolo Summer Camp is now opening its doors to Maltese youngsters. To this end, an open training session was held at the Sliema pitch yesterday.
