A cheeky monkey has bewildered zookeepers after stealing a fellow primate's baby.
Juanita, a golden-headed lion tamarin, took a shine to the unnamed infant at London Zoo just weeks after it was born.
The monkey, who has no offspring of her own, is said to be unfazed by her adopted baby - despite it being of a different species.
Meanwhile, the two-month-old emperor tamarin is similarly smitten and clings to its surrogate mother's fiery orange mane.
The grey youngster, already sporting the start of an adult's signature white moustache, has also confused its biological parents.
Senior keeper, Lucy Hawley, said: "At first the father of the emperor tamarin baby was a little nervous about Juanita but now they all seem to get along just fine.
"Juanita has never had a baby before so it seems like her mothering instinct has just kicked in this time around. Who knows what animal she'll be carrying around next."
The baby will be named once keepers have determined its sex, something which usually happens at two and a half months.
