European Commissioner John Dalli recently met a group of local radio and television presenters, producers, and journalists, who were visiting Brussels, Belgium.

Mr Dalli held discussions with the group wherein he explained his responsibilities as Commissioner for Health and Consumer Protection.

During a meeting at Europe House, Head of Representation Bill Martin highlighted the benefit of such visits not only for personalities but also for audiences. The group of 20 participants was hosted by the Visits' Section of the Directorate-General for Communication of the European Commission, organised in collaboration with the European Commission Representation in Malta.

During their two-day visit, participants attended talks by various speakers on political priorities of the EU, the Lisbon Treaty and the environment, as well as other issues related directly to Malta.

The programme also included a visit to the European Parliament building in Brussels, where the participants were given a presentation on the role of this institution, as well as a visit to the radio and television studios of the European Commission in the Berlaymont building.
